ASD congratulate St. James's Hospital, Dublin on being awarded second place in the Best RFID Healthcare Implementation 2018 by RFID Journal at RFID Journal LIVE! on April 10-12 at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida.
The RFID Journal Awards recognize companies that have distinguished themselves by their successful use of radio frequency identification (RFID) or introduction of a valuable new RFID product or services. Each year, RFID Journal selects an independent panel of judges to evaluate entries and choose the winners.
St. James's Hospital in Dublin was selected by RFID Journal as a finalist in the category of Best RFID Healthcare Implementation 2018, which is given to the company that has demonstrated the best use of RFID technology in a health care setting and they presented details of their RFID Solution at RFID Journal LIVE!
"We received a lot of great entries this year from countries around the world," said Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and editor. "These finalists show how RFID is delivering tremendous business value across different industries and in different applications.”
St. James's Hospital successfully introduced RFID technology to the hospital campus using ASD as their preferred solution provider. RFID technology, in conjunction with the integrated software and hardware solutions, allows St. James's Hospital to track and trace any entity that moves through the hospital. This project was given the name PATH – Patient and Asset Tracking in Healthcare.
"St. James's Hospital and ASD have made huge progress using RFID technology in healthcare over the past few years. We have cultivated a strong partnership and have worked in close collaboration resulting in achieving significant advances throughout the hospital campus." - Greg Magrane, Project Manager at St. James's Hospital
The installation was the first phase of a facility-wide, permanent deployment of RFID throughout its campus to identify where samples, assets, patients and personnel are located, and to improve patient care and efficiency based on that data.
An article outlining the project was published in RFID Journal in 2017 and it can be accessed below:
